How many musicians should I book for my event?

I can offer you any lineup, from 1 to 6 musicians, for your event in Lisbon or anywhere in the surrounding region. It's mainly a matter of personal taste, but it also depends on the space available at the venue and your planned budget.

Personally, I love the sound of 2 saxophones combined with at least one accompanying instrument, such as piano or guitar with double bass, plus drums. Every lineup has its own charm!

Many event planners also choose a band based on the visual appeal of the lineup. Some, for example, love the look of a wooden double bass, or specifically want an acoustic band with no cables, amplifiers, or microphones.

The musical repertoire is nearly identical across all lineups, so together we'll find the perfect fit for your preferences — except for the six-piece band, which has its own dedicated big band-style swing arrangement.

Does the band include a singer?

If you'd also like live vocals at your event, you can book a singer to accompany the band as an add-on.

Can I request specific instruments for the band?

Yes, feel free to let me know if you have specific preferences regarding instruments. Even if a desired instrument isn't listed on my website, I'll be happy to try to accommodate your request!

Do I need a stage for the band at my event?

No, that's not required. Depending on the lineup chosen, you just need to make sure there's enough space at the venue for the band to set up.

What does the venue need to provide for the band to perform?

As a general rule, all that's needed is a power outlet the band can use on-site. A sound technician is only necessary for very large event venues to amplify the band. If you haven't already arranged a sound technician for your event, I'd be happy to help organize one, or you're welcome to handle that yourself.

Besides the band, do I also need a sound technician?

This mainly depends on the size of the venue. In most cases, it's not necessary, since the saxophone carries well even without amplification, and instruments like keyboard, double bass, and guitar can bring their own amplifiers, allowing the volume to be well controlled.

Do I need to schedule a soundcheck before the event?

If there are no microphones or sound technician involved, a soundcheck isn't necessary. This only becomes relevant for very large venues, or when the band's sound needs to be transmitted through speakers — for example, simultaneously across several rooms.

Will the saxophone be too loud during the event if guests want to talk?

As a general rule, it's still easy to hold a conversation even close to the band. Together, we can choose a suitable spot at your venue to set up the band, so guests can freely decide whether they'd like to enjoy the music up close or step slightly away for a quieter chat.

How long can the band play in one evening?

We're quite flexible when it comes to performance length and are happy to adapt to your wishes. From a single piece of music up to around 3 hours of performance, including breaks, anything is possible on our end.

However, when I perform as a solo saxophonist, the maximum duration is around 1.5 hours, split into several sets (each lasting between 20 and 45 minutes).

Can I have preferences regarding the band's attire?

As a band, we always present ourselves in elegant attire at events. If you have any special requests — for example, a specific event theme, elegant long dresses, or a particular color palette — feel free to share your wishes. We'll be happy to try to accommodate your preferences!

Why should I book a live band instead of just putting on a Spotify playlist?

Of course, you can also have a lovely evening with a digital playlist, but a live band creates a fantastic atmosphere at an event and brings so much more life to the space. In my opinion, live music is just as essential to a great party as good food and fine wine. On top of that, it simply looks fantastic and turns the event into something truly special and memorable.
